Welcome to my new Blog!

What to say about me?  Well, I’m an American man (American by birth, Southern by good fortune, Floridian by God’s blessing).  I’m what’s euphemistically referred to as ‘middle-aged’, though given my love of single-malt scotch, bacon, and thick cuts of red meat, I prefer to think that I’m more ‘two-thirds aged’.  As you’ve no doubt guessed from the description of this blog, I love guns.  I’ve been a gun owner for virtually all of my adult life, beginning with a beloved Marlin Mdl. 60 I received the Christmas before my 18th birthday.  Since then, my passion for guns and shooting has only grown, as has my desire to both learn all that I can regarding our shared way of life, and speak out in support of the Second Amendment rights that most Americans hold dear.

If you wonder if I have any special qualifications that suited me for this job, well … I’d have to say no.  I’m just a gun owner and enthusiast, like most of you.  Until recently, I worked armed security, and have for virtually all my adult life.  I carry a firearm every day, and I have since the 1980s.  I shoot as often as possible, I read everything on shooting I can get my hands on, and have received firearms training as part of my job.  I’m sure that there are many of you out there far more qualified than I as a, “gun expert.”

I do, however, have some small, God-given talent to express my thoughts and opinions in a cogent manner, through the written word … and to entertain and inform people as I do so.  Security officer may have been my job, but ‘writer’ is what I am, and have been since my early teens.

I write on a wide variety of topics elsewhere, including my other blog ( http://unimonsterscrypt.blogspot.com ) and a regular column at Count Gore De Vol’s website ( http://www.countgore.com ), both devoted to the world of Horror Films.  And now I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on guns and shooting with the readers of this, my new blog.  Thank you for the checking it out … stick around and enjoy!
